“I was recently in a car accident where the steering wheel air bag was activated and metal fragments came through the air bag an cut my head open. My accident was head on impact with a stationary dwelling. All windows were fully intact upon and after impact. Upon retrieving my items from my vehicle I took notice to all these metal fragments in the vehicle.”
NHTSA complaint #11323608, filed 2020-05, 39,000 miles“My airbag light is on and there is no reason for it to have come on. The car has 85000 miles on it and warranty doesn't cover it. I think we have an issue here of its not covered under a warranty through Ford up to 65000 miles. This is a huge safety issue. It only comes on and stays on when car hoes into drive.”

The car had two incidents of accelerating while applying the brake prior to the final incident where the car ran into a wall and was totaled. The car had never exhibited any braking or acceleration issues before this day. The first incident, I was slowing down to go over a speed bump. As I was applying the brake, the car jerked forward then stopped. It drove as normal through traffic for the next 8 miles. …”
NHTSA complaint #11415317, filed 2021-05, 86,000 miles“The transmission goes into nutural while driving creating a loss of power while in motion. The air bags will not deploy and the light indicatoe is turned on on the dash display. Gas milleage has greatly decreased.”
NHTSA complaint #11350342, filed 2020-08, 86,000 miles“The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that the air bags had been inoperable since 2016. The contact stated that the air bag warning light had remained illuminated for several years. The vehicle was taken to several dealers who diagnosed the failure to be seat belt retention failure. The vehicle was not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 96,850.”
