“The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fiesta. The contact state while driving 60 MPH, the rear passenger’s side door inadvertently unlatched. The contact stated that once he arrived home, he noticed the door was not latched correctly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the door latch would not be replaced. The contact was informed that the latch was already repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 2,500.”
NHTSA complaint #11491945, filed 2022-11, 2,500 miles“The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that the rear driver’s side door failed to latch securely when closed. The contact stated that the door would only lock when the latch was manually pushed down. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V177000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.”

The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the front passenger's door latch failed to latch as needed, and the front passenger's door failed to close securely. The contact used duct tape to prevent the door from opening unexpectedly. The contact stated that the failure started shortly after the vehicle was purchased. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to several independent mechanics however, the failure was not duplicated. The dealer was made aware of the failure and provided the contact the cost for a diagnostic test. …”

The contact stated that while her son was driving at an undisclosed speed, the passenger's side front door inadvertently opened. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V177000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.”
