“Driving a Ford 500, involved in a crash. Car was hit broadside by another driver going approximately 45 MPH, causing the wheel to fold in, the back of the front quarter panel and drivers side door are crushed. Drivers side door will not open. Side air bags did not deploy.”

NHTSA complaint #10285893, filed 2009-10, 13,000 miles“The contact owns a 2007 Ford Five Hundred. While driving approximately 50 MPH, the contact crashed into a tree. The vehicle crashed head first, but the air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The contact sustained bruising to her thigh, arm and chest, and also experienced shortness of breath. The contact was transported to the hospital via ambulance. The police reported to the scene and a report was filed. The VIN was not available. The vehicle was destroyed. The approximate failure mileage was 94,500.”

The side airbags failed to deploy, causing at least in substantial part, serious personal injuries to the driver. The vehicle was totally destroyed in the impact.”
