“The sensor on my passenger door has gone out, causing the car to believe the door is open even when it is not. There is also a consistent issue with one seatbelt, sometimes it will lock into place when not in use, and sometimes it will not allow me to buckle it.”
NHTSA complaint #11204898, filed 2019-04, 80,000 miles“Takata recall - my wife was traveling on hwy 70 in texas towards vernon. She was traveling approximately 73mph and struck a deer. When she struck the deer the the airbags (both front airbags) didn't deploy and the seatbelts did not lock as designed. Based on my research of your site and the NHTSA guidelines on the deployment of airbags...I believe there is a problem. Anything being struck at that speed, should've deployed the airbags and my wife's application of the brakes at that speed should have locked the safety restraints. …”
NHTSA complaint #11035346, filed 2017-10, 46,000 miles“My child went to buckle herself in, and the plastic around the buckle broke in her hand, revealing frayed seat belt material. My child is 7 years old. They car was stationary I am the only owner and I have only owned the FLEX since jan of 2015. That was the driver side passenger seatbelt. The seat belt on the other side had been locking for about a year, but it pulled slowly was not an issue. I asked for it to be adjusted and was told the whole mechanism needed replacing. It had less than 61654 miles. That was what was on the car when I got it back. …”
NHTSA complaint #11091016, filed 2018-04, 61,600 miles“Have had multiple problems with the rear passenger seatbelts retracting to the point now where klaben Ford says the entire seatbelt needs to be replaced. It is a rear passenger airbag seatbelt.”
NHTSA complaint #11206208, filed 2019-05, 87,000 miles“Bought used with 65,000 miles, at 75,000 miles passenger back door sensor went bad causing car to say righ back door ajar and the lights stay on, doors do not lock when driving, alarm goes off intermittently. Why has Ford not done something about this - clearly a problem. Also the 2nd row seat belts have been a nightmare. Kids always getting stuck - cna't unlatch them. One of the receptecles just fell apart - not safe! Why hasn't Ford done something about this. I own 5 Ford vehicles and the older vehicles run great - no issues. Seems like from 2012 and newer there is nothing but problems. …”
