Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“My vehicle accelerated when I was slamming full pressure on the brake and caused me to hit a store, thank the lord I had full coverage and it only did cosmetic damage to the vehicle, I've also had times where it will say the traction control is out or it has no uphill start, my model doesn't have that. I would like a refund on my vehicle but it has issues already.”

NHTSA complaint #11287694, filed 2019-12, 86,074 miles

“The car shut off on me while driving and I scheduled the dealership to fix it because I found similar issues and a recall but when I dropped my car off they said no recall existed for my car and there is nothing they can about my car. When I was leaving the dealership I almost got hit in traffic because I had the same issue for two days in a row and it keeps happening.”

NHTSA complaint #11181433, filed 2019-02, 62,400 miles

“I was driving on a major road at speeds of 50mph when car lost all power to the wheels and transmission slipped. I was leaving a mall parking lot and accelerating when the car jerked dangerously and stopped accelerating causing me to loose speed and control of the vehicle. Probable cause: transmission failure or disconnect.”

NHTSA complaint #10816633, filed 2015-12, 4,000 miles

“My car stalls shakes and studders when I accelerate, even after I turn the traction control off it continues ,I've nearly been rear ended plenty of times. I don't feel safe and either does my passengers as and I'm sure this jerking as and tire spinning will cause other problems.”

NHTSA complaint #10970725, filed 2017-04, 45,000 miles

“I had my Ford Focus transmission repaired at least three times so far. As of today, the car is still stalling and jerking. I scheduled a service maintenance today. But, I was turned down by todd ( service rep) and bob (service manager) because the level of effectiveness was not amounted to 250. Therefore, they recommend that I should continue driving the car as is and risk my life and my family. This is not acceptable. My life and my family life is worth more than $3000.”
