“My car has had an open recall for the seatbelts since 03 nov 2016, and there is still no remedy available. This is in addition to several other recalls, including one a couple days ago for faulty door latches, and the overall poor quality of the vehicle. I can't even trade it in because no one wants a vehicle with an open recall. I feel that five and a half months is an excessive time for a recall to still have no remedy.”
NHTSA complaint #10984704, filed 2017-05, 18,000 miles“There is a plastic shield right inside the seat belt buckle both of these on back seats have come loose (I use booster seats) it requires a long needle nose pliers to get this part out of the inside of the buckle in order for the seatbelt to work again... When you are and about that means you have no use of the seatbelt until you can get home to remove this piece. Ie kid not restrained date below is 2nd / time buckle”
NHTSA complaint #10811437, filed 2015-12, 20,000 miles“A safety recall (16s42) was issued for seatbelt pretensioner cables may separate during deployment and may not restrain the occupants in a crash . All the Ford dealerships around me (zip 95008) say they cannot do the recall until january 2018. This seems like a serious problem that should be addressed much more quickly. Ford should provide more parts in a timely manner and allow dealerships to do the repairs. I was told that by a dealership that they are allowed to only do so many of these repairs per week and that is why their appointments are so far out. …”
NHTSA complaint #11002399, filed 2017-06“The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion Energi. The contact stated that the rear passenger’s and driver’s side seat belts failed to latch securely. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there were no recalls on the VIN for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.”
NHTSA complaint #11656743, filed 2025-04, 40,000 miles“Open recall number 16s42 - seat belt tensioners not operating correctly - Ford will not authorize alternate transportation. I am writing to file a complaint on Ford that they will not provide alterante transportation for a clear safety issue”
