“On 3/26/24 I was driving home on the interstate and the vehicle lost power and started to smell like burning plastic. I barely got the car on the side of the road when it stopped moving. It was towed to Ford and they confirmed that it was due to the recall. I was very luck this did not cause an accident”
NHTSA complaint #11584142, filed 2024-04“The lane keep assist does not work basically , it can't detect the lines , due to the recall I can't charge my car which I paid much more than regular ford fusion. To be able to use the Electric miles and save on gas , also the 3G modem stopped working and ford has no fix for that , took it to different dealers and they say even if I replace the old modem with a new 4G, (paying out of my own pocket !!) most likely the app and remote connection will not work .”
NHTSA complaint #11591440, filed 2024-05“My vehicle had a recall opened nearly a year ago. The recall is 23S33 PHEV BATTERY CELL DEGRADATION. I had taken my car into the dealership nearly a dozen times over the course of almost 2 years prior to the recall being announced. I was told not to charge a car that I bought for that specific purpose. Initially a solution was posted of replacing the battery which was then removed. So there very much is a remedy available, they just don't want to pay the cost to provide that remedy. …”
NHTSA complaint #11578980, filed 2024-03“Recall issued 6/23 23S33- Over 7 months and Ford has NOT corrected this serious problem, nor is there anything in the updates to lead one to believe they have an interest in doing so. I have spent hours trying to coerce this company to do something, but to no avail!! How much longer will YOU allow them to get away with this!!! A serious fire, or collision may result!! Must someone DIE in order for you to take action!!”
NHTSA complaint #11570316, filed 2024-02“The contact owns a 2019 Ford Fusion Energi. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V440000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available”
