“Beginning about january 2015, and occurring a total of about six times so far, my wife's 2013 Fusion Hybrid (currently with 25,500 miles) experienced what feels like a power surge. (I experienced this once in this vehicle; the remainder when my wife was driving.) it is possible that this is related to the regenerative braking system at least in part, as I have seen others describe it as a feeling of hitting an ice patch. …”

NHTSA complaint #10780705, filed 2015-10, 25,500 miles

“While driving, my check engine warning light, low oil pressure warning light, and the stop safely now warning came up on my dash. I lost all power steering and breaks, and the engine cut out. I struggled to stop the car, but eventually it stopped moving. I turned off the car and turned it back on, receiving no further errors. I called the dealership to find out that there's nothing they can do since the car is no longer in an error state .”

NHTSA complaint #10605436, filed 2014-06, 19,105 miles

“My car has 66,000 miles on it. 3 of the 4 fuel injectors have failed while driving on highways, when cold outside. All in the last month. Searching forums, this isn't just me. Every Ford hybrid has this problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10935900, filed 2016-12, 66,000 miles

“I was driving myself to my emt salary, full benefit job when my car began to smoke. When I pulled over and lifted the hood flames came roaring out. I personally was able to put it out being a former fire fighter. Now insurance says they can not cover this due to it being an engine failure. Despite full coverage, gap insurance, and fire casualty insurance they could not pay out for a new engine. Only the fire damage done under the hood and nothing else. The dealership explained I needed an entirely new engine put in and that it would cost 7,000.00. …”

NHTSA complaint #11217114, filed 2019-05, 96,237 miles

“I went to autonation Ford in delray beach, florida for a oil change and Ford recalls. Upon arriving at the dealership the vehicle seemed fine. Once leaving the facility it also seemed to be running normally. Two days later the vehicle was making unusual noises in the engine when accelerating or braking. I then alerted the technician at the dealership. I told them I did not feel secure driving back to the dealership. They did not want to pay for the towing. Never the less, I then drove the vehicle back to the dealership for it to be reviewed. …”
