“Backup camera not working. Car has poor visibility when backing up without the camera. Message says camera not available. The dealer said it’s the wiring harnesses and wants $900.00 to replace . Ford has bad design with the short cable in the trunk and the material used to wrap the wires.”

NHTSA complaint #11416681, filed 2021-05, 85,000 miles

“Unknown. I am awaiting to get a backup camera recall fixed on this car since 04/18/2023. I scheduled an appointment to get this recalled fixed for 05/30/2023. The Ford Dealership called on 04/27/2023 and cancelled the appointment, stating the parts are not available and that I would be notified by Ford when the parts are available. As of 08/23/2023 I am still waiting to get my recall fixed before an incident does occur.”

NHTSA complaint #11540334, filed 2023-08

“When putting my vehicle in reverse, the backup camera cuts out and completely doesn’t work, or the image is staticky and unclear. This problem is currently covered under a recall on the backup camera, but after taking my vehicle to a dealer, I was notified that the recall only impacts vehicle’s manufactured during a few months of the year. Because my car was manufactured later in the year, it is not included in the recall, even though I am having the exact issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11542451, filed 2023-09

“Under NHTSA recall 22V082. Ford refused to change the rear view camera despite it was under recall: The recall states to replace wiring harness and or camera replacement if necessary free of charge. My rear view camera is still distorted after they change the wiring harness and they told me to pay for the camera since its not covered under the recall. the letter that I got has the same recall number above but it didn't mention replacing the camera even though it has the same issue on the recall distort image when backing up. …”

NHTSA complaint #11531548, filed 2023-07

“I’ve been trying for a year to get my camera repaired on my car and they always say the parts aren’t in . I’m started to get mad . AutoNation ford mobile Alabama”
