“The rear camera has gone off and on for months now it does not work at all..the dealership has told me there have been many with this problem the harness in the trunk goes up and down with the opening and closing of the trunk creating strain on the wires causing camera failure.. Dealership wants 1000 to fix this and my car has 32000 miles on it the emergency break sticks because the sleving around it gets stuck not allowing the release of the break”
NHTSA complaint #11413132, filed 2021-04, 32,000 miles“While driving on a residential street at a low rate of speed I attempted to stop at a stop sign. The brake pedal went completely to the floor. The vehicle did not stop. Many lights and warnings lit up letting me know I had no brake fluid. I stopped the vehicle using the emergency brake. After having it towed to Ford and inspected it was discovered that the passenger side brake line had ruptured and the driver side brake line had a 'bubble' and also needed replacement.this was a potentially very dangerous situation. If I were on the highway at a higher rate of speed this could have been fatal. …”
NHTSA complaint #11317737, filed 2020-03, 71,796 miles“I was driving on the road and noticed my parking brake indicator flashing. I discovered that it was the parking brake handle that was moving freely was bouncing around enough near the parking brake engagement point to turn on the light. I took the car in for service. I was told that it was normal and that they tightened something but it did not resolve the problem. The correct fix involves removing the center console to get access to the adjustment for the brake cables. This has not been completed yet. This is one of four problems I have had with this vehicle that have not been resolved. …”
NHTSA complaint #11013479, filed 2017-08, 7,000 miles“Parking brake engagement/adjustment the emergency brake does no engage when the handle is pulled up due to a slack in the cable line of about 2 inches. This causes an issue driving as the sensor is engaged and can cause cruise control to turn off. Also, it becomes a risk parking the car on a hill since you have to pulled the handle all the way up for proper tension on the brake line cable. The other issue is this cable can come loose resulting in lost of the emergency brake function. …”
NHTSA complaint #10927199, filed 2016-11, 10,000 miles“Due to a faulty design the vacuum pump that drives the break booster is connected to the cam with a threaded camshaft extension. This part sheared off causion the vacuumed pump to loose vacuum and the break booster to unexpectedly stop functioning. The vehicle was in motion on the interstate. The failure was noticed after attempting to break. The residual vacuum prevented the break light from illuminating temporarily. The breaks became difficult to press, ABS sporadically engaged and the breaking situation was uncontrolled placing life and property at risk.”
