“Driving normally , when suddenly the steering became extremely difficult. Luckily I was on a city street going about 40 MPH and I was able to manage the vehicle enough to get it to the side of the road.”

NHTSA complaint #11228824, filed 2019-07, 117,000 miles

“I was driving on i279 around 6:15am on july1, 2014. My speed was approximately 60mph. All of a sudden a message appeared on the screen saying there was a power steering system failure. At that point I immediately lost all power to the steering wheel. It was very difficult to maintain a straight course and fortunately I didn't have very far to go until I could pull over and stop. This is very dangerous. Shortly thereafter the advance traction control symbol appeared on the screen also.”

NHTSA complaint #10607821, filed 2014-07, 18,652 miles

“While driving the steering got super tight and hard to steer. Driving on a straight stretch of road. Got an alignment it helped but two days later it went back to hard to steer.”

NHTSA complaint #11298595, filed 2020-01, 110,050 miles

“My steering all of a sudden was stiff and I can barely turn at low speeds. Not safe due to uncontrolled steering. I replaced the pump thinking that would fix it, and it did not. I’m taking it to a dealer after the holiday weekend. No warnings at all.”

NHTSA complaint #11655569, filed 2025-04

“The steering shut down and I could not steer the vehicle in a Holiday parking lot and I almost hit a pedestrian. My engine and oil light came on. I had to shut the car off and turn it back on and it worked again. This is the second time this has happened to me!”
