“The Ford Taurus sho 2010 model has the exact same part for the steering as the 2011-2015 model that was recalled. Ford did not include this model with the recall and it suffers the same problem, sudden loss of steering with no warning. My car lost steering when driving but did not cause me to wreck. This car should be included in the recall.”

NHTSA complaint #11104703, filed 2018-06, 105,000 miles

“Electric power assist stopped working hit mail box 2011 and up has a recall ?what about 2010 and older? Yes I was in motion ,and I was on a city street went into a turn no power steering by the time I knew what had happen I had struck a mail box if I had been on the mountain I could have been killed”

NHTSA complaint #11220904, filed 2019-06, 150,000 miles

“My 2010 Ford Taurus sho developed a dangerous problem with loss of power steering. The steering intermittently goes into manual mode with no power steering when there is a power steering fault. The fault happens while stationary and while in motion. Turning is severely limited and creates a dangerous condition where turning to avoid an accident would be very difficult. There is a recall for 2011-2013 Ford Taurus for this exact issue but not for my 2010 Ford Taurus.”

NHTSA complaint #11075391, filed 2018-02, 100,000 miles

“Power steering went out it has the same problem as the other Ford's that was recalled can't under stand why mine 2010 wasn't recalled but if I have a wreck I'm suing Ford in the NHTSA I promise.”

NHTSA complaint #11270317, filed 2019-10, 109,000 miles

“While driving the power steering system failed jerking the car to the right. This caused me to graze the curb. Fortunately I was able to stop the vehicle before jumping the curb and hitting a tree. I limped the car home without power steering. I have seen the safety recall for the same issues for 2011 and up Ford Taurus. Since my particular model, sho is the only vehicle in the Taurus that incorporates this system it was not included in the recall this never notified of the possibility of this occurring. …”
