“Headlights crashno fireno injuries0 deaths0 the visibility provided by the head light assembly (high and low beam), is less than the standard for night driving conditions and almost non-existent when making turns on dark roads. High beams are the equivalent of dimmed low beams when driving at night. There are plenty of forum discussions regarding this issue with most everyone agreeing on a head assembly flawed design. I noticed this issue after purchasing this vehicle (new) from a Ford dealership. I have already heat a deer due to inadequate lights. …”
NHTSA complaint #11269239, filed 2019-10, 49,500 miles“The visibility provided by the head light assembly (high and low beam), is less than the standard for night driving conditions and almost non-existent when making turns on dark roads. High beams are the equivalent of dimmed low beams when driving at night. I tried replacing oem light bulbs with sylvania hid ($112 each) despite the fact that hid light bulbs are already standard on the Ford Taurus, with no results. There are plenty of forum discussions regarding this issue with most everyone agreeing on a head assembly flawed design. …”
NHTSA complaint #10933877, filed 2016-12, 30,000 miles“An electrical or computer component failed, frequently causing my rear back up camera to go out. I couldn't tell that both of my headlights to stop functioning at the same time (because all of my interior lighting adjustments were still functioning, and because I was in a well light area initially) until I was on the highway, after dark, with my child in the vehicle.”
NHTSA complaint #11574615, filed 2024-02“Driving down the road both headlights went out while driving. Not park lights just headlights. Had to drive all the way home with no headlights. Called dealership they said my VIN didnot have a recall. It was some 2015 but not mine. These headlights are faulty. My 2015 work cruiser is doing the exact same thing which is a Ford explorer. I never had a car older fords and others that have faulty headlights. This is a major issue. I can see one headlight but two.”
