“Driving on the freeway the check stability control warning flashes and the motor gets really loud. Cleaned the ground wires and the motor is no longer making the loud noise or jerking but not my seat heaters no longer work and now the battery light flashes but just 2 months ago I replaced the battery and alternator! All of this happens while driving!”
NHTSA complaint #11362199, filed 2020-10, 156,000 miles“While driving 45mph on a straightaway highway , three warnings came on reduced engine power service stabilitrak and traction control off then the vehicle lost power cars behind me and nowhere to pull off the car had lost power it would not get over fifteen MPH. Taking it into be serviced .I have already had the transmission replaced”
NHTSA complaint #11163575, filed 2018-12, 143,000 miles“While driving at 55 MPH three warnings came on reduced engine power service stabilitrak and traction control off then, the speed began to decline and I could not go more than 35 MPH. Got the car to a safe place to stop and when I put in park a sputtering in the engine could be felt. I turned off and when I started it to bring it in for service it ran fine but check engine light was still on. A very similar incident occurred just over a year ago. Repair was to replace the throttle body. Also mention of the tps sensor on the throttle. I have not had the current issue fixed yet.”
NHTSA complaint #11061404, filed 2018-01, 170,000 miles“My car would not go over 40 MPH on a highway and the rpms were shooting up to 9,000. I safely made it to a parking lot and when I went to leave the car would not move in reverse! I had to push the car, with my 5 children in it, out of the spot!! (I'm a tough chick but this was crazy!). I got the car out of the lot and was able to slowly make it home. My car is only 10 months past warranty and we will be stuck with a big bill. I think it should be covered or Gmc should reimburse the repair fee.”
NHTSA complaint #10524331, filed 2013-07, 77,000 miles“2007 Gmc Acadia...it has 62000 miles on it & just in march we had a problem with a metal on metal scraping sound(& you could feel it when you braked) like it needed new brakes but brake pads were like new. And the service airbag light is on, then service traction control message, & service stabilitrack message came on too & it started jerking when you hit the brakes like the ABS brakes were kicking in. So we took it to robinson's & they turned the rotars & rotated my tires & when I got it back it rode like a dune buggy. …”
