NHTSA complaint #11163575, filed 2018-12, 143,000 miles

“On my way home from work, in the middle of tunnel truck turn on check engine light, in panel reduced engine power and reduced the velocity by itself to 10mph. I turn it off and on again , started running but in less than 1 minute running, did the same problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10561474, filed 2014-01, 131,000 miles

“My car would not go over 40 MPH on a highway and the rpms were shooting up to 9,000. I safely made it to a parking lot and when I went to leave the car would not move in reverse! I had to push the car, with my 5 children in it, out of the spot!! (I'm a tough chick but this was crazy!). I got the car out of the lot and was able to slowly make it home. My car is only 10 months past warranty and we will be stuck with a big bill. I think it should be covered or Gmc should reimburse the repair fee.”

NHTSA complaint #10524331, filed 2013-07, 77,000 miles

“I was driving home from work around 5:05pm on the 5 north freeway going about 65 MPH. All of a sudden my check engine light went on and I felt a sudden loss of power in my acceleration. As I stepped on the gas more to keep up with the flow of traffic, the RPM needle jumped up to between 4 and 6 on my gauge, but my vehicle wasn't going any faster so I had to steer to the right to get to the exit. I was barely able to exit without almost getting rear ended but I had no choice as my vehicle would not go over 40mph. …”

NHTSA complaint #10553254, filed 2013-11, 69,900 miles

“On this particular day I was merging on to the freeway (which speeds of other traffic was upwards of 65 MPH). I attempted to accelerate and in doing so was unable to switch gears. The vehicle bogged down and nearly caused an accident as I wasn't gaining speed. This issue repeatedly happened on my way home, traveling a distance of 60 miles. This malfunction according to some discussions on edmunds is well known by GM! It needs to be more than fixed, the transmissions need replacement. A bandaid isn't going to work in this case.”
