“The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH, the check engine malfunction and Electronic Stability Control system malfunction warning lights illuminated. The contact was inadvertently locked out of the vehicle and was unable to open the tailgate. The contact disconnected the battery to cancel the warning lights; however, the tailgate still failed to open. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000.”

“The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated while driving approximately 45–50 MPH in the rain, the tail gate opened unintendedly. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that cargo in the bed of the truck fell out onto the roadway. The contact stated that the failure was like NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V060000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 2,900.”
