“Dash board cracked by the right passenger side airbag, and then cracked over the back side of the driver side instrument panel. We always use a heat shield in the summer at work, but vehicle stays in the garage when not driven. I have noticed that this seems to be a problem with Gmc SUV's”
NHTSA complaint #10934859, filed 2016-12, 88,014 miles“I'm writing this as just like loads of other people are having the same issue. I have both a 07 yukon denali and an 07 silverado 2500 both have the exact same issue. The denali is the worst. Cracked dashboard. I'm worried that if I was to have an accident and the passenger airbag was to deploy that sharp pierces of the dashboard will go flying towards the people in the vehicle. Gm really should be doing a recall on this as it is a common issue right through all the vechiles that share the same dashboard. Seems lately every week the cracks get worse. …”
NHTSA complaint #11021009, filed 2017-09, 190,000 miles“The dash board has cracked in 4 different places, left side of gauge cluster, left of center speaker, in front of center speaker and to the left of passenger air bag. I am not sure when it happened.”
NHTSA complaint #10836282, filed 2016-02, 140,000 miles“In october 2013, the trailer hitch cover failed due to a broken prong. Body shop installed a replacement part; however, from the beginning it did not fit correctly. When compared to old cover, there was a difference in the prong design. In june 2014 the cover did not break or come off the vehicle; however, it was flapping below the bumper. Took vehicle into service department for another issue, but, asked service department to have body shop to insure right part installed. …”
