2018: “I was on the highway with moderate traffic. My car would no longer accelerate due to a blown head gasket out of nowhere, I was on the far left lane and had to traverse over 5 lanes in moderate traffic while other drivers on the highway were going 60+ mph. This is a common issue among Honda Accords with the 1.5 engines.”
NHTSA complaint #11633848, filed 2025-01, 69,043 miles2012: “My 2012 Honda Accord started having paint issues when it had 80,000 miles on it. I took it into the dealership and both the dealership and american Honda acknowledged there was a problem but refused to fix it. The paint started peeling in the back window well and has now spread to the side of the car. Large paint chips come off exposing bare metal.”
NHTSA complaint #11404735, filed 2021-03, 80,000 miles2014: “Approx. 165000 I had to replace the transmission. The CVT transmission blew with me only owning for approx. 2.5 years. I'm now on my 3rd CVT transmission and Honda blamed me for the malfunction. I was driving to pick up my 3 year old from daycare when I heard a bang and items falling from my car. I was able to coast and park in a church parking lot.”
