“While traveling on the highway with the cruise control on suddenly the vehicle accelerated to 85 MPH, and consumer was unable to shut the cruise control off. Tapping the brakes did nothing. Finally, consumer exited the highway, and shut the vehicle off.”
NHTSA complaint #10103273, filed 2004-12, 149,000 miles“I was parking car, braking as I entered spot when car suddenly surged forward, jumping a concrete parking curb and slamming into a concrete block wall. Braking did not slow car. Car was stopped by steel threads in wall, although wheels continued to spin until ignition was turned off. All electrical (seat belt, lights,etc.) was non-functional after ignition turned off.”
