“Hi we'll all I could said that park my car on 53th st and hooper yesterday at 11pm was my last seen of the car is a Honda Accord 90 green the problem is that is not register under my name but I have the papers on hand.”

NHTSA complaint #11297049, filed 2020-01

“This was a lightly used Honda given to me by my father who was original owner. Odometer reading when I was given care in 12/97 was 60,079. It could cost up to $650.00 according to Honda to fix. Honda would not acknowledge that this was a defect, and said mileage on vehicle was high. These are highway miles, and being unable to exit the car in an emergency is a safety issue, I am sure. …”

NHTSA complaint #702501, filed 1999-01

“My car, like many other Honda's I've observed, is rusting from the inside-out around both rear fender wells. Since I live in the midwest I thought it may be weather related. I've since noticed many other Honda accords from various other states, with little to no snow, ice, and/or salt during the winters, having the same problem. The paint in the affected areas is still there, but has bubbled. Before I have this repaired, I just wanted to check to see if this is possibly a defect in the manufactures design and/or materials.”

NHTSA complaint #712369, filed 1999-09

“Diver side door was inoperative, could not open from inside or outside. Locksmiths could not open door. Required body shop to remove entire door replace entire locking system. Entire effort cost in excess of $600.00. Local Honda dealer reported this as a problem and requires the inside pannel to be cut away and air chisel the locking device free.”

NHTSA complaint #733855, filed 2000-10

“Power door latch fails to allow door to open at times, door would not allow an exit in an emergency, if some how the car caught fire you could not get out without climbing over the seat to the next door, this door latch had to be replaced twice in just over 1 year. Honda knows that these are a problem because the dealer parts counters stock this door latch,Honda only warrantys these latches for 1 year.”
