Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Power door locks have been making a loud noise when locked for the past year. Two weeks ago the rear hatch back lock opens and then closes on its own making it impossible to open the hatch. Even if the button is held up manually the hatch will not open. All other four doors work properly.”

NHTSA complaint #10260344, filed 2009-03, 135,000 miles

“Both underfenders for front fenders spontaneously detached on flat, dry highway when I was going at a steady speed of 45 MPH. Driver's side remained attached at front end and twisted around tire, causing me to lose control of car and veer onto verge. Passenger side abruptly detached completely and flew onto roadway. Front end of car has never been involved in collision. Honda dealer claims they never see this happening and continues to blame driver for faulty driving”

NHTSA complaint #735160, filed 2000-10

“Right rear lock makes grinding noise while locking. When I took it in for service I was told that the door lock actuator would require replacement at a cost to me of $ 198.00. How common is this at relatively low mileage?”

NHTSA complaint #703324, filed 1999-02

“A metal rod that supports the trunk had sheared off, causing the trunk to fall down. Consumer drove the vehicle to the dealership for analysis, where the mechanic noticed that the metal rod needed replacement due to a worn out part.”

NHTSA complaint #10055453, filed 2004-01

“While driving, oil indicatior light started to falshing. Lost all oil in engine. Balance shaft seal burst. Timing belt and other belts replaced. Cost $700. Also, passenger's side door (front & back) power locks are inop.”

NHTSA complaint #733919, filed 2000-10
