NHTSA complaint #11151355, filed 2018-11, 5 miles“Passenger side rear subframe rusted and broke off I heard a clunking sound when I was going down the street on the way to work I turned the corner and heard a loud clunk sound and got under my car and looked and the passenger side rear subframe is broke off”
NHTSA complaint #11120688, filed 2018-08, 210,000 miles“Right side sub-frame, rear beam, k frame is completely rusted through from A/C drain line installed to drain directly onto the subframe. This causes the steering to flex substantially and according to my mechanic could cause the car steering to fail catastrophically or could allow the motor and transmission to fall out of the car. Anti-sway bar is completely broken away from the frame. Found by mechanic checking my car to determine what was wrong with the steering and cornering.”
NHTSA complaint #11190886, filed 2019-03, 223,000 miles“I had a schedule oil change and the technician informed me that my subframe was rusting away. He informed me that it was not safe to drive the car. The subframe should not be in this condition as a result of normal driving condition. I do have photo's of this part.”
NHTSA complaint #10640121, filed 2014-09, 123,616 miles“After a long trip out west we noticed a noise in the front end, we had the car looked at and they said the sub frame on right side was rusted out. We consider ourselves lucky nothing happened on the trip. From ohio to south dakota.”
