“Honda had the main brake line with hydraulic fluid burst causing accident. Pushed on brake pedal went straight to floor and did not stop. Was working fine the day before, pumping brake pedal was uselesss. Car was heading for another vehicle so I drove off the road, speed was about 30mph when I ended in a median strip.”

NHTSA complaint #11150442, filed 2018-11, 145,000 miles

“The struts on both front and back went bad about 7 years ago. I was driving down the street with my boyfriend at the time, who is a mechanic and heard some thumping and other noises. He looked in under my Honda and told me that my struts on both the front and back are bad and need replacing. It's gotten a lot worse, floating over bumps, having a difficult time keeping it under control while turning around any type of corner and if I happen to not see any kind of bump or whole in the road, it sounds as if my car is going to fall apart. …”

NHTSA complaint #11307625, filed 2020-02, 135,000 miles

“We just got in the car after valet parking returned it to us. After the first brake application at about 20 MPH the brakes went to the floor. We found a parking space and called for a tow to our Honda dealer. The dealer called later to say that the brake lines had rusted through and could not be driven. This car has been serviced at this dealer since new and had just had the required 150,000 mile inspection with no mention of a problem. In 61 years of automobile ownership, I have never experienced such a problem. …”

NHTSA complaint #10522036, filed 2013-06, 156,000 miles

“I bought a Honda Accord with 162,000 miles on it and was told all it needed was brakes and rotors. When I was replacing the brakes and rotor on the front passenger side of the vehicle I inspected all other parts as well and that's when I noticed the big problem. The sub frame was rotted out. I did some research online and found that this is a common problem with this year and that Honda recognizes this but fails to do anything about it. The air condition drain is positioned so that it is constantly dripping on to that part of the sub frame. …”
