“On 3/18/15 I took our 2010 Honda Accord with 28,037 miles to suburban Honda in farmington hills,mi for a oil change, the service manager notified me that the driver side rear pads have worn out to the point of wearing out the rotor beyond turning to repair, and I need a new caliper that as we know must be replaced in pairs. …”

NHTSA complaint #10789846, filed 2015-11, 28,037 miles

“Inboard passenger rear brake pad jammed and prematurely worn; driver side rear brake pads ok. Calipers ok. . Dealer had to replace both rear brake sets and resurface the rotors at my expense. Dealer blamed corrosion ; I blame a Honda design defect in their braking system.”

NHTSA complaint #10992709, filed 2017-06, 36,341 miles

“Brakes wear out and develop hot spots. Had to replace either brake pads or rotors often. Honda doesn't admit it as their problem and making me pay for each of these incidents costing me a fortune. Unfortunately, my VIN is not on the settlement reached. Each time I go to dealer with brake problems, he re-surfaces rotors causing additional wear.”

NHTSA complaint #10453683, filed 2012-04, 10,000 miles

“At 18,000 miles the car rear brakes started to squeak when applying the brakes for awhile the problem would disappear but the car would shudder when coming to a complete stop, now when I drive the squeaking noise continues as I drive and doesn't go away this afternoon sept. 2, 2010 I have appointment to fix this issue.”

NHTSA complaint #10423009, filed 2011-09, 18,000 miles

“Took car for routine service and was told rear brake pads and rotors were worn and needed to be replaced, after only 38,856 miles. My VIN number is not listed as eligible in 2010 Honda brake recall settlement. I think Honda should be responsible for these repairs.”
