“I had pulled into a parking stop and stopped. I was about to reverse to park straight when my car shot forward. The brakes were not working and the car accelerated forward until it was stopped by a brick column. I was in a parking lot in front of a retail strip center.”

NHTSA complaint #11124580, filed 2018-09, 52,557 miles

“Front brake squeal when driving, steering or applying brakes. Sounds like the wear sensors but in fact I was told by the dealer (bay ridge Honda) in brooklyn n.y. That it is the clips that hold the pads in place. I was also told that Honda is aware of this problem and they are waiting for the repair parts to arrive along with the service bulletin.”

NHTSA complaint #10510814, filed 2013-05, 4,800 miles

“During braking, as you are getting close to stopping the car, I feel little jerk before the car completely stops. This jerk is like couple of times and can be repeated. This probably due to improper ABS system. If you move to neutral and then brake, this issue is non-existent. I suspect some electronic aspect with mechanical brakes creating this jerk.”

NHTSA complaint #10519694, filed 2013-06, 270 miles

“Vehicle stability assist is de-activated due to DTC 85-01 signal failure indicated in electronic power steering module. Because of this, anti-lock brakes are not functional. Ordered replacement vsa modulator through local repair shop first week in aug 11, 2020, but Honda america estimates ship date of dec 21, 2020 (19 weeks)! They ship thousands of new cars every week with new vsa modulators, meanwhile I have to drive my car with the critical safety equipment deactivated!”

NHTSA complaint #11373631, filed 2020-11, 60,622 miles

“Came to stop at stop sign. New Honda Accord 2013 4 door suddenly tried to accelerate. I pushed down as hard as I could on the brake to stop the motion forward. It only moved a foot or two and with my wife yelling I was able to get it into neutral. Scared the life out of us. I am 51 and a financial professional. My wife is 52 and a physician. This was completely real.”
