“I am the original owner of a 2013 Honda Accord, ex-l,. My Honda has 42k miles. At about 25k miles my Accord started to make a very obvious and disturbing droning/humming noise at speeds above 40 MPH. The noise became progressively louder as time went by. I brought the car to my local Honda dealer 2 times and asked them to fix the problem, to no avail. …”

NHTSA complaint #10892315, filed 2016-08, 25,000 miles

“In general I like my Accord 2013; however, I have been noticing hesitation and/or abrupt downshift of gear when I drive below 25 miles. I was searching for this issue, found numerous other people has the same problem. Shame on Honda for not fixing this issue. I just recommended two of my relatives to buy toyota, they are quick at recall.”

NHTSA complaint #10564694, filed 2014-02, 11,000 miles

“Came to stop at stop sign. New Honda Accord 2013 4 door suddenly tried to accelerate. I pushed down as hard as I could on the brake to stop the motion forward. It only moved a foot or two and with my wife yelling I was able to get it into neutral. Scared the life out of us. I am 51 and a financial professional. My wife is 52 and a physician. This was completely real.”

NHTSA complaint #10490809, filed 2013-01, 1,000 miles

“Automatic transmission slipped out of gear and into lower gear, cause very high engine revs and sharp deceleration. I was able to re-engage transmission after slowing down to near stop, shifting into neutral, and then shifting into 2nd. It was a dangerous situation as I was on an urban interstate highway. From thereafter, this would re-occur periodically and gradually increased in frequency.”

NHTSA complaint #10620676, filed 2014-08, 69,000 miles

“Brought the car in couple months ago because of vibrating problem. Dealer check and said that it was normal. However, it was not normal as I know my car. Now, with the routines check I noted that the oil is leaking between cylinder head and cylinder block where the engine gasket is.”
