“While driving on the freeway the electronic power steering went out making the car extremely difficult to steer. I was able to muscle the steering with brute force and get the car home. After sitting in my driveway for a few hours the problem improved (the power assist was back) but the car makes scraping sound when the wheels are turning.”

NHTSA complaint #11388389, filed 2021-01, 38,000 miles

“Yesterday morning, (5-10-21), I was leaving for work in my Accord. There was suddenly no steering and I was unable to make the right turn out of my driveway. Had this happened on a winding road I'd be a 3500 lb. Base jumper with no parachute. Taking it to a dealer, terrified to drive the car after repairs.”

NHTSA complaint #11416084, filed 2021-05, 114,926 miles

“The car looses its steering control. When stationary (and driving), if I take my hands off the steering, it automatically steers all the way to the left. It sometimes resets the problem when the car is restarted or when it is turned all the way to the right, the problem occurs again shortly. I took it to the dealership but like others, I only got a big bill of $2800.”

NHTSA complaint #11277659, filed 2019-11, 49,500 miles

“My car's steering wheel randomly jerks like it's going to steer out of control, what I do is grip the wheel tightly and I'm able to gain control. It's not often but it's happened a few times within the past 2 months to draw concern. It's always while I'm driving on the highway.”

NHTSA complaint #11416000, filed 2021-05, 100,000 miles

“In the few years I've had my car, which I take very good care of and have low mileage on, the power steering stopped working suddenly while I was driving (very scary and dangerous!), the driver's side sun visor broke one day when I was trying to put it back up, and the dashboard sensors go off unnecessarily. Very disappointing from a Honda vehicle. Beware!”
