“On 11/19/2025, while operating my 2025 Honda Accord Hybrid, I experienced a sudden and total loss of power while the vehicle was in motion. Despite pressing the accelerator, the vehicle failed to respond. I noticed the 'READY' indicator disappeared on the dashboard, signifying a powertrain system shutdown. This caused me to lose control of the vehicle's speed and positioning, resulting in a collision. …”
NHTSA complaint #11727598, filed 2026-03“While driving on the highway traffic slowed down and came to a stop for about 30 seconds and when it started to move I heard a sound and my car shifted into park and the shifter never moved out of drive. I moved the shifter to park and then to drive and it began to move forward I don't now that happened but it got me a bit upset This was yesterday 10/23/25 and today I took my son t the the airport and all was OK. I am worried that may happen again and I'll be stuck somewhere.”
NHTSA complaint #11695476, filed 2025-10“In Feb. 2026, I had a software recall service performed on my Honda Accord. Later that same day, a persistent error message appeared on my dash: Software Update Not Available See Dealer. I contacted the dealer and they said sometimes that error message clears on its own and to wait and see. A few days later as I was leaving work, I turned my car on, put it in reverse and realized I had no propulsion or power steering. I put the car back in park and restarted it and drove it straight to the dealer where it sat for about three weeks as they tried to clear the error message. …”
NHTSA complaint #11726861, filed 2026-03“In December 2024, I was driving my 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid Sport on a clear, dry day after school when the car just completely lost power out of nowhere. The dashboard went crazy, flashing a bunch of different error messages every few seconds. Because the car wouldn't respond, I ended up in a side-impact crash. I was able to turn on/off the car after putting on my hazards and I was able to drive it normally and drove it towards the side of the ramp. I called my dad and after some time and turning the car on and off, the error messages disappeared and I was able to drive it safely back home. …”
NHTSA complaint #11728699, filed 2026-04“Car lost power while driving and came to a slow stop, was unable to accelerate. This was dangerous and I was on a relatively busy street will a small shoulder. Car made no noises or gave any warnings prior to this issue. Car engine was eventually able to powered back on, engine light now shows, along with power system light”
