“I was going on the highway at around 65-70 mph and the road was clear. The Honda Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB/Collision Mitigation Braking System) activated and I couldn’t do anything, the brake was sudden and my speed decreased to almost 30mph. There were no cars behind me or it would have definitely been a fatal rear-end crash. The road was clear, there were no cars/object ahead of me on the road.”
NHTSA complaint #11730306, filed 2026-04“I was trying to back up and the car would not go. A warning on the dash came on that said collision Mitigation System problem, see your dealer. I put the car in drive and it hesitated like a brake was on. .I couldn't get above 10 miles per hour. It was like I was trying to go forward, but someone was pulling me back at the same time. I took it to the dealer and they said nothing was wrong.”
NHTSA complaint #11564748, filed 2024-01“My car started shaking like it didn’t want to go. My engine light came on. Then it showed road departure mitigation system problem, collision mitigation system problem, adaptive. Those control problem, and emissions system problem then says engine is not functioning properly.”
NHTSA complaint #11673164, filed 2025-07“While engaging Adaptive Cruise Control on highway speed, all the sudden I lost the sight of the car in front of me on the display, almost causing a collision, I also lost the correct Waze display. After I stopped the car, shut off engine, then restart the car, re-engaging Adaptive Cruise Control, both problems disappeared. This is an intermittent problem, it should be asap investigated then recalled due to huge safety concern !”
NHTSA complaint #11702241, filed 2025-12“On 2 separate occasions while driving, I have taken an exit that has 2 left and 2 right turn lanes. While I'm in the middle left turn lane and a car is in the middle right turn lane the radar cone for the emergency braking system will trigger an imminent collision and slam on the brakes even though cars are in completely different lanes and I have nothing in front of me. Both incidents have caused near misses from cars behind me. …”
