“I suddenly started receiving error signals about the fuel and the break, and the emission system, and the navigation system. I took th car at the dealership and they told me it is the fuel injector faulty, and it is a national back order and there is not a time frame when it will be ready. The car is driven for only 10,000 miles!”
NHTSA complaint #11648219, filed 2025-03“While driving home from work in my 2024 Honda Accord EX 1.5T, multiple warning lights suddenly came on on the dashboard. Shortly afterward, I began smelling a strong gasoline/fuel odor inside the passenger compartment. I stopped the vehicle and got out. I could also smell gasoline outside the vehicle. I opened the hood and the gasoline odor was still noticeable from the engine compartment. Because I was concerned about the safety of the vehicle, I went to the nearest O’Reilly Auto Parts and had the vehicle scanned. …”
NHTSA complaint #11762909, filed 2026-09“On March 4, I took my car in for the high pressure fuel pump recall and was under the impression that it was replaced. On May 7 my car caught on fire two minutes after exiting the vehicle. It was confirmed by a fire inspector that it was the high-pressure fuel pump that caused the fire. There was no warning lights or anything to give warning that the vehicle was malfunctioning. I feel I was put at risk because if I would have had to stop at a stoplight, the car would’ve caught on fire with me in it. …”
NHTSA complaint #11662525, filed 2025-05“When I go to start the vehicle, it takes multiple seconds to actually start. It continues to turn over and over before finally starting up. This happens 3-4 times a day depending on how often I drive. This also creates a bad gas fume, fuel smell. This doesn't seem like something that a 2024 Honda should experience. I am a new owner to the car and have not taken it to a certified Honda dealership. It was purchased used from a non-Honda dealership. I did reach out to the local Honda dealership though, asking if this is normal for the car to act like this. I am awaiting a response.”
NHTSA complaint #11770138, filed 2026-10“In December 2024, I was driving my 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid Sport on a clear, dry day after school when the car just completely lost power out of nowhere. The dashboard went crazy, flashing a bunch of different error messages every few seconds. Because the car wouldn't respond, I ended up in a side-impact crash. I was able to turn on/off the car after putting on my hazards and I was able to drive it normally and drove it towards the side of the ramp. I called my dad and after some time and turning the car on and off, the error messages disappeared and I was able to drive it safely back home. …”
