“My 2000 Honda Accord v6 3.0 vtec engine is having some issues after it heats up when I start it would do some erratic RPM changes on idle and then stall. If I manage to get it moving despite RPM drops, it runs great and would not stall again. Also, if I leave it for a while (like 15 minutes) and then come back, it usually starts like nothing happened I believe this is a defect with PCM and fuel pressure regulator the issue has to do with ethanol having a lower boiling point than traditional gas. …”

NHTSA complaint #11394584, filed 2021-02, 118,234 miles

“Check engine light is on and has to do with the emission system. Mechanic says there is a pin hole in the hose to the gas tank causing this. This is the same issue I had will my 1984 Honda Accord and it was covered under a recall. Has there been or can there be a recall on this 2000 model as well? Thanks!”

NHTSA complaint #10617641, filed 2014-07, 150,000 miles

“After driving my 2000 Honda v6 coupe for 30 minutes or more, it would have problems starting if shut off for about 20 minutes. It would start and then stall. The only way to get it started is to give it gas and shift into gear quickly which is dangerous. Also there was a TSB 00-024 for this and I got it done for close to $710. This really isn't fair as I didn't do anything wrong to have this issue. It is clearly a case of a manufacturing defect.”

NHTSA complaint #10364303, filed 2010-11, 126,000 miles

“I was pulling into the parking space after driving the vehicle for 45 mins (approx. 20 miles). When I was ready park the car and switch off the ignition, the car suddenly accelerated way too fast and hit the building in front. I was driving into the parking space at less than around 10 MPH as I had to make 3 turns within 100 feet before coming into vacant parking space. My leg was also in the break pedal as I made those turns after getting into the private property from il rte 83. …”

NHTSA complaint #10488888, filed 2012-12, 151,700 miles

“Engine will fire and then immediatly stall if engine is already warm. Otherwise it will run fine. A trouble code was taken from the computer (p1399) which Honda tells me does not exist for a 2000 Accord. Another Honda rep told me that the fuel pressure regulator does not read well with winter fuels in warmer (50-60f) weather. The warrantee on this part only goes to 80,000 miles.”
