“The muffler is rusted through, the paint on the bumper by the taillights is rusted and chipping off. I was never rearender. My driver window won't go down, because the switch went out. The other windows stick but are ok for now. The trunk leaks constantly when it rains, I have tried to seal it but it didn't work. My master cylinder just went out and my brakes were not working properly.”

NHTSA complaint #10070679, filed 2004-01, 134,232 miles

“1 I don't know exactly want it is but my timing are always wearing out. So I just want to know want I can do to fix it. 2 engine idle is unstable engine is racing when the gas is not been touched . Took off timing belt cover to find that the belt is worn, replaced timing belt twice.”

NHTSA complaint #10100117, filed 2004-11, 213,582 miles

“My 1993 Honda Accord will continuously hesitate to respond to gasoline around 60 MPH or at 1500 or 2500 rpms, this is listed in technical service bulletin: 603961. This problem happens every day. The car will also stall out at slow speeds or idle. No mechanic has been able to successfully diagnose this problem. I took my car into the dealer to address this problem and they literally laughed at me when I asked if they could fix it for free. This is absurd since this problem affects my safety.”

NHTSA complaint #10237177, filed 2008-08, 137,000 miles

“Catastrophic oil leak caused by known failure of balancer shaft seal. Engine replacement will cost $3500- I was going to sell the car two days from now. Last month, another known failure of the igniter left me stranded.”

NHTSA complaint #10049571, filed 2003-12, 164,000 miles

“-the contact was driving on a snowy day at 20 MPH and the oil light started to blink rapidly on the dashboard of her 1993 Honda Accord. She pulled off the road and found that there was no oil in the vehicle. The contact put in four quarts of oil and notice a leak. About an hour after the incident she check the oil again and found that it was empty again. …”
