“I was in an accident on saturday 1/13/2001 there was major damage to the front of my Honda Accord that the radiator was moved the hood was smashed toward window, but driver's air bag didnt come out should it have popped out? And when I plug something into my cigarette lighter it makes a flicker like wires are not connected right should I be concerned?????”

NHTSA complaint #739756, filed 2001-01

“My srs (airbag) sensor light is on. Recently virginia passed a law for state inspections that this unit must work before passing inspections. The price went up from $400 to $1200 to fix in less than a year. Many Honda owners are having the same problem. The airbag will not deploy if the light is on. Honda tells me it could be as simple as fixing a seat belt (which is under warranty). This jogged my memory. It was after my driver side seat belt sensor started intermittently working that the srs light came on. …”

NHTSA complaint #10167194, filed 2006-08

“Air bag light illuminates and stays on from heat, possibly from direct sun. Problem has existed for 2 years and vehicle has been in for service several times. Dealer will replace entire srs unit to correct the problem. The dealer will only fix at a cost to the consumer by replacing the full system. The service manager informed consumer that the air bag will not deploy if the srs light is illuminated.”

NHTSA complaint #8012322, filed 2002-06
