“Last year, I was driving my 2003 Honda Accord, and I locked my car as I was riding. Upon reaching my home I tried to unlock my car and it would not unlock manually, by pushing the bottom, or with the keyless entry. When I tried to use the interior button to unlock the car, it locked all of the doors and the driver door would not unlock manually, however, I was finally able to get a passenger door unlocked manually. It seemed like I was in a horror movie because the passenger doors would appear to unlock, but they would instantly relock. …”

NHTSA complaint #10462272, filed 2012-06, 150,000 miles

“Inside door handles of my 2003 Honda Accord lx are peeling and I have cut my fingers several times while I was opening my door from the inside of my car.”

NHTSA complaint #10245091, filed 2008-10, 100,000 miles

“Complaint received via e-mail. I purchased a brand new car, and since then I have been back to the dealership numerous amounts of times for many problems. First problem was my brakes needed to be replaced at 4600 miles, but weren't replaced until 7700 miles 3.5 months later due to back order. Currently, with 17,900 miles the brakes were grinding again. This is my 3rd Honda, and the worse one, yet likely my last. The second problem was that my right rear door was locked for 3 months. …”

NHTSA complaint #10097691, filed 2004-10, 4,600 miles

“I could not open the unlocked driver's door from the inside using the internal door handle. Corrective action was replacement of the inner handle cable (part # 72171-sda-a01) which had severed. Such a failure could be life threatening in an accident, water submerged or fire.”

NHTSA complaint #10273625, filed 2009-06, 73,121 miles

“Driver side lock did not work with keyless entry. Had to use key to unlock door. Took back to dealer and paid to get actuator fixed. Now the passenger side door lock does not open and I have to reach over to unlock. Cannot open from the outside.”

NHTSA complaint #10183362, filed 2007-02, 42,000 miles
