“I've a 2000 Honda Accord. After driving for 4-5 years, the trunk kept popping up every where I went. I had to pull over, closed the trunk and it would pop open again. I bought the car to several mechanics and they weren't able to fix it. I am about to replace the lock in the trunk in order to keep it lock. Under normal wear and tear, the lock in the trunk shouldn't break like that.”

NHTSA complaint #10139834, filed 2005-10, 50,500 miles

“The window regulators and power door locks on the Honda's I own keep failing and cost more than 300 dollars to repair. This seems to be a systemic problem on the Honda's. I have had this happen on all 4 doors of my 2000 Honda Accord and 2 doors on my 2004 Honda pilot. Honda needs to do a recall and fix this issue. People shouldn't have to pay for a systemic issue in the car, which can be a safety issue as well as you can't put the windows down or up once this happens.”

NHTSA complaint #10263517, filed 2009-03, 95,000 miles

“I have a 2000 Honda Accord v6. It has been a great car until recently. My door on the drivers side has locked and will not open. I have been to the dealership and they informed me that it would cost approx. 800.00 to fix. This is clearly a manufacturer problem. I am working with Honda to try and get them to fix it. I just hope that the other side does not do that. This is my only means of transportation and I would hate to have my 4 yr. Old niece with me and something happen and we could not get out of the car. …”

NHTSA complaint #10141429, filed 2005-11, 70,060 miles

“The contact owns 2000 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the door handle, which was made of metal and plastic, fractured and caused two vehicle occupants to sustain cuts on their fingers. The contact stated that the door handle should have been manufacturer with plastic instead of metal. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for further inspection. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 170,000. Updated 05/19/10.”

NHTSA complaint #10325850, filed 2010-04, 50,000 miles

“The contact stated the keyless entry works only on the driver side front door. The dealership determined the locks in the other doors need to be replaced.”
