“The back seat does not allow for a flat sturdy surface for an infant car seat. I have pulled as tight as I can on the seat belt and latches and find that neither offers a secure 1 standard of play. The seats tip when I turn a corner with my grandchild in it. It is unsturdy. I have tried heavy and light seats and they still tip. I have to stuff towels underneath to try to balance, but of course a towel in an accident will not protect in an accident. By law I must use a back seat and not a front seat. Is there a flatter more stable back seat?”
NHTSA complaint #11353675, filed 2020-09, 185,800 miles“My 2005 Honda Accord lx v6 srs light illuminated at approx. 63000 miles. The Honda dealer diagnosed the problem to DTC 71-10 (broken driver seat sensor harness). Honda had a safety recall (service bulletin 07-002) regarding this problem in january 2007. My vehicle was not included in the recall. Out of pocket cost $203.29. I have seen many other complaints lodged with the NHTSA on this matter. Why was this recall not expanded?”
NHTSA complaint #10502502, filed 2013-03, 63,000 miles“I have a 2005 Honda Accord ex #. I have a broken seat position sensor wire harness. This vehicle falls outside the recall VIN series for the Honda recall q31. I think that they cut off the vehicle series to soon. My car has the same problem as the recall. I have contacted Honda and have received no satisfaction.”
NHTSA complaint #10232304, filed 2008-06, 45,000 miles“My 2005 Accord had an illuminated supplemental restraint system (srs) light. The Honda dealer diagnosed it down to a broken driver seat sensor harness; fault codes 71-10 (drivers seat pos sensor) and a2-10 (faulty pwr supply). This condition is exactly the same as described in Honda service bulletin 07-002, safety recall: driver's seat position sensor harness replacement. Just as described in the bulletin, the wires on the harness become damaged and in fact were completely broken away from the plug end. …”
NHTSA complaint #10449300, filed 2012-02, 102,396 miles“The defect concerns the failure of the mounting assembly for the driver's seat. This car has power front seats. The left rear mount for the driver's front seat has broken from the under carriage below the seat causing the left rear of the driver's seat to be disconnected and loose from the undercarriage and potentially the seat could come loose in an accident. The undercarriage contains the power equipment to move the seat and mount the seat. A Honda dealer has inspected the seat and said the seat under carriage must be replaced at a cost of $750. …”
