“I was stopped on a city street at a red light and rear ended by a drunk driver going 45+MPH. The drivers seat back failed upon collision and was thrust back on the rear passenger seat. The resulting seat failure caused injuries to my lower back that would not have taken place had the seat structure been designed strong enough to withstand a rear collision.”
NHTSA complaint #11372459, filed 2020-10, 83,000 miles“I am trying to buy a car, but when I test drive them, I have neck pain because the headrests reach so far forward. If you look at the seats from the side, one is forced to sit in a hunched, curved shape, with one's head projected forward, which is hardly comfortable or healthy. Please NHTSA, change the regulations and let us sit up straight! Why protect me from uncertain neck injury by causing me certain pain on a daily basis?”
NHTSA complaint #10911069, filed 2016-10, 100 miles“Reported on three occasions to Honda dealer in annapolis that driver seat makes a very load noise when adjusting seat forward and or backwards. Dealership indicated that the noise was normal and that no repair could be made until the noise was even louder. Car was purchased in june 2017 and first report of noise was made in june of 2017, to sales group at Honda of annapolis, and then to service group in june and once more in december. The noise is getting louder. Additionally a when driving down the highway at 40 + MPH an excessive amount of street noisecan be heard in the cabin.”
NHTSA complaint #11131781, filed 2018-09, 4,000 miles“When I purchased my car from AutoNation Honda Clearwater, I immediately faced several issues. The first problem was with the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System). As soon as the error appeared, I contacted the dealership. They informed me that it was covered under warranty and that I could visit any Honda service center to have it fixed. However, when I went to another authorized Honda service center, they refused to perform the repair, even though TPMS is a legally required safety system. In addition, I had reported the following issues to the dealership soon after purchase: 1. …”
NHTSA complaint #11699109, filed 2025-11“The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the front driver's side seat independently moved upwards into the steering wheel, and the headrest remained positioned as intended. In addition, the front driver's side door seat control buttons failed to respond while being pressed. Two local dealers were contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.”
