“Rear upper control arm kit needs to be replaced. Currently causes uneven, rapid tire wear. I bought the car new in 2007 from this dealership and have it serviced by this dealership since then. A service bulletin 08-001 was issued 1/22/08, but I was just told by the dealership on 8/18/14 about this. They refuse to cover the cost of repair.”

NHTSA complaint #10628127, filed 2014-08, 67,000 miles

“I have purchased, in the last 5 years, 5 different sets of tires because of cupping' of my rear tires due to a defect in the rear suspension. I was told on 2 occasions by 2 different Honda dealers that the problem in my rear suspension had been solved. The last service was 10 months ago; I purchased my fifth set of tires and now have to replace them again.”

NHTSA complaint #10480875, filed 2012-10, 35,000 miles

“I have found out that the reason for my irregular wear on my tires has not been alignment problems but a problem that Honda has had with not having the right rear upper control arms. I have went through multiple sets of tires and alignments before finding this out. I contacted Honda after this find and they are not willing to help in the cost to repair this.”

NHTSA complaint #10487601, filed 2012-12, 77,000 miles

“The tires on my 2007 Honda Civic kept show bad wear and had to rotate every 10,000-15,000 until couldn't do it anymore, bought several sets of tires:: solved the problem buy paying almost $900 to fix the arms on the rear end. Said thing is Honda knew and knows about this problem but wont do a recall... Good news is after all my sets of tires and $900 dollars my car is now getting good wear out of the tires.”

NHTSA complaint #10502375, filed 2013-03, 10,000 miles

“My 2007 Honda Civic gets uneven rear tire wear referred to as cupping with an accompanying vibration and noise. Honda has issued a service bulletin, 08-001 regarding this problem and the corrective action required to fix it. They denied that my vehicle had this problem and would not pay for any corrective action.”
