“Original paint is peeling. Never knew or told about the extended warranty for paint until I brought the car in yesterday for a passenger airbag recall on the car which also I have to know about by looking up online since we weren't told about it. Dealership confirmed that they cant do anything about the car paint anymore since the extended warranty expired.”

NHTSA complaint #11092028, filed 2018-05, 33,350 miles

“Takata recall it was around 3:45 am my brother woke me up said there was a loud crash outside so we went outside to find my neighbor parking and I go over to see and my car which was stationary in the street, it was smashed in from the front, I called the cops to make a report. I believe my neighbor was under the influence of something as I try to talk to her to get her insurance.”

NHTSA complaint #11161186, filed 2018-12, 161,000 miles

“1. Safety recall notice indicative of air bag problem. Took to dealer. He said that it has been fixed after an hour of stay for passenger inflator-and when noticed while driving back, the airbag light came again. Prior to this also, this problem was notified a few years ago, and I got it fixed. Dealer asking money for doing diagnostics and then fixing it. 2. Front and rear bumper clips fixed several times-4 times spending my own money but always a problem.”

NHTSA complaint #11383994, filed 2020-12, 187,754 miles

“My 2007 Honda Civic's paint started webbing and peeling on the hood and roof over a year ago. Dealer said not covered under warranty but suggested an auto body shop I could go to. Thanks but no thanks. Am not spending over 1,000 dollars for an obvious defect in Honda's paint/primer. No more Honda's for me.my car which I take excellent care of looks horrible.”

NHTSA complaint #10471222, filed 2012-08, 60,000 miles

“After about a year after purchasing my car, I noticed the paint started to appear rather dusky. A short time later, my paint started to peel! My car was only three years old at time of purchase- so peeling paint is obviously not owners fault. No sooner did my roof begin to peel heavily, the hood and side panels and now trunk are starting to peel excessively. It is so embarrassing, and so gross.”
