“Paint peeling at bottom of left front bumper. Car is garaged. Problem noticed 2/7/18. I can slide my nail under the paint & continue to pee it. Car to be seen at Honda dealer 3/12/18 & photo of area of peel to be photographed & sent to appropriate Honda department for review. This is definitely a manufacturing deficit!”
NHTSA complaint #11078236, filed 2018-03, 5,500 miles“My 2016 Honda Civic ex-t was purchased brand new on 2016. In less than 40,000 miles, my air conditioning unit blows hot air. It is currently in the shop replacing the AC unit. They said there was a leak and I am sure refrigerant is not a safe chemical to be leaking out in the environment.”
NHTSA complaint #11233594, filed 2019-07, 35,000 miles“There is a dent on my car's rear upper quarter panel (c-pillar crease) on the driver's side. This dent is present on all 2016 and 2017 Civic sedan cars' either on driver's side or passenger's side. Honda dealer didn't accept this as a manufacturing defect and they refused to fix it. Additionally, there is no official explanation from Honda about the issue. I suspect that it's a safety issue. This dent problem exists globally, it's not a region specific problem as I have seen.”
NHTSA complaint #11054147, filed 2017-12, 4,000 miles“Just driving down a city street at 45 MPH and heard a big pop. Pulled over to discover my sunroof glass had actually exploded outward. I believe this to be faulty tempered glass and wanted to report this issue. Thx”
NHTSA complaint #11020571, filed 2017-08, 10,000 miles“In less than 5 years of ownership, the paint on the diver side in the crevice between the rear window and the body of our 2016 Civic started peeling in chunks of greater than 1 . Because it was out of the 3/36000 warranty, we were offered to have the area repainted and we consumed half the cost. Less than 8 months later, and still less than 5 years of ownership, the paint is now peeling on the passenger side in the same exact fashion. They have had multiple recalls on many cars in this year and extended the warranty for those cars as well. I'm not sure what to do here.”
