“My 2016 Honda Civic only has less than 25000 miles, the AC had not working since this summer, after I took the car to schaumburg Honda in illionis, they said the condenser is find but compressor has a leak which will cost over $1000 to be fixed. I decided not repair but still was charged $140 for the inspection. Totally not acceptable!”
NHTSA complaint #11291404, filed 2019-12, 24,800 miles“My 2016 Honda Civic touring while driving approx. 60 MPH on the interstate in about 60 degree weather while raining. My sunroof exploded the center portion of it which in turn damaged my drunk and if someone was behind me could have had other catastrophic events. Nothing hit my car I heard the explosion sounded like a gunshot then seen the big chunk of glass hit my trunk and heard it as well.”
NHTSA complaint #11307360, filed 2020-02, 50,000 miles“The air conditioning stopped working on our 2016 Honda Civic in early summer of 2020. We were told by the dealer that it was the compressor and would cost in excess of $2000.00 to fix. We opted out of the repair at that time. I have since discovered that Honda has now extended the warranty for 10 years.”
NHTSA complaint #11354532, filed 2020-09, 65,000 miles“After parking and locking my vehicle, when I later returned to my car all four windows were open approximately 3/4 of the way. This has happened 3 times. In one instance, the car had been parked prior to a rainstorm and after the rain had ended, I went out to the car to go on an errand and again all four windows were 3/4 of the way open.”
NHTSA complaint #11010117, filed 2017-07, 5,500 miles“I got into the trunk of my Civic (keyless) and when I tried to open the car, everything had shut down and it is locked and won't respond to the emergency key or the fob. This began 2 days ago and I see several other complaints o the internet of the same problem. It was parked in my driveway. Not being able to get into my car here in the arizona desert could be a serioue problem.”
