“On July 1 and July 27 when I started the vehicle a warning came on saying collision mitigation braking issue. See your dealer. It is available for inspection upon request. Will call dealer tomorrow. Not inspected yet. Will call dealership tomorrow. By info we are reading, there is no solution to this. Huge concern. Huge safety issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11676512, filed 2025-07

“The car was parked in a safe location over night. When I attempted to start it in the morning the car ran poorly and displayed numerous warning light on the dash including evap control, brakes, steering, and various automated systems. Upon calling the dealer I was told to it was not safe to drive and to have it towed to the dealer. Which I did.”

“• BREAK SYSTEM light appeared while driving and is available for inspection. •My risk was high due to the fact of BRAKE SYSTEM and SEE YOUR DEALER message. •Honda dealership confirmed of a gearbox issue and recommended not to drive it due to the fact that the steering wheel can lock at anytime during driving. •I noticed my steering wheel was very sensative and starting hearing a clicking noise during driving.”

NHTSA complaint #11544007, filed 2023-09

“The steering system has failed and also the brake system. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The Steering wheel appears to be sticky, so I personally have encountered a few near miss incidents where I end up over turning because I have to use excessive force to turn. The problem has not been confirmed by the dealer or inspected by anyone but myself. Yes, there were warning lights as stated earlier. The brake system light and a few other lights came on after the incident.”

NHTSA complaint #11551155, filed 2023-10

“The 2022 Honda Civic (Sport) with approx. 13,000 miles had been driving fine for the previous 10 minutes, on and off the highway, when I was almost home and on a more residential 25-30mph road. All of a sudden all of the warning lights went off on the dashboard at once, so I went to brake to slow down and pull over. But the brakes were completely failing - the pedal would just hit the back of the foot well. The emergency brake is electronic, so that wouldn't work either. I was lucky to be immediately next to a grocery store parking lot, so I roll into that. …”
