“The cotter pin and washer nuts connecting the brake pedal to the brake booster are completely missing from my vehicle. Unsure if it was even installed when I purchased the vehicle in 2024. Noticed the issue last Friday the 13th of February, 2026. brought it into a dealership Tuesday the 17th of February, 2026. …”
NHTSA complaint #11718616, filed 2026-02“My Honda will randomly beep and slam the brakes but there is nothing in front of me, it has done this multiple times and getting to the point I’m scared it will cause an accident. When it happened the first time I thought maybe it was because it was slightly raining, but it will do it regardless of the weather conditions. It has happened probably 5+ times, and it’s starting to become more frequent.”
NHTSA complaint #11704327, filed 2025-12“braking system warnings and possibility of brake failure warning. Dealership thought it was sensor issue and replaced sensors but it happened again and I’m also experiencing a phenomenon referred to as “phantom braking” as my car will stop as if an object is directly in front of me while I’m driving, which has happened a few times on the interstate now and I’m afraid to drive. This is a serious safety risk for all involved.”
NHTSA complaint #11595202, filed 2024-06“Car automatically stopped abruptly when a car in oncoming traffic turned a safe distance ahead of me. I was in the process of slowing down and was in no danger of being too close to the car in front of me. Nearly got rear ended.”
NHTSA complaint #11590549, filed 2024-05“I was driving up a hill and all of a sudden, my transmission gave out, and I was rolling backwards on a hill. It was terrifying since the brakes barely worked as well. I was rolling down the hill and almost crashed, it was emotionally damaging and hope I never have to live through that again. I had AAA take the car to Honda, and they said that they needed to replace the transmission after only 10,000 miles. I could not believe it and they replaced the transmission since it was covered under warranty.”
