“Went to dealer for routine maintenance, was told compliance bushing was cracked and needs replacement. Will eventually cause unevenness and pulling in suspension and tires to cup and become dangerous. Online resources seem to show this as a common problem in hondas, but not in other makes.”
NHTSA complaint #10546853, filed 2013-10, 61,000 miles“Car has developed cracks on the welding around both front struts mounts. This are clear signs of metal fatigue on a car that is less than 10 years old. Car has zero accident and there is no rust or signs of any other factor that may had affected the structure. This cracks are a threat to the driver's safety because the strut may perforate the body/frame of the car and hit the windshield while on the road. This cracks are very hard to find due to the location were are developed, and there are not other factors that may warn the driver about the issue. …”
NHTSA complaint #11002090, filed 2017-06, 143,300 miles“The contact owns a 2007 Honda FIT. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH and going over a bump, a loud noise emitted from the rear of the vehicle as it started to shake. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the compliance bushings, shocks and front links needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 56,221.”
