“Got into my car one morning and noticed that my seat was completely reclined. Used the power switch to bring it back up, but when I sat back on it, it ratched back into the recline position.”

NHTSA complaint #10408917, filed 2011-06, 65,332 miles

“Normal use of the car drivers electrical seat adjustment platform failed so the the seat was very loose and rocking. Felt like seat would come loose in an accident. Consequences could be very serious. Certainly violating the safety rating which Honda advertises. The car has never to my knowledge, been wrecked. It first failed in dec. 2008 and was repaired by welding, which failed jan. 27, 2009. The entire adjustment frame was replaced at a cost of $1200.00. I have the old part for you or Honda to inspect, if you wish.”

NHTSA complaint #10257025, filed 2009-01, 120,000 miles

“Power seat will activate itself when driver sits on it, without touching any controls. The seat moves forward pinning the driver into the steering wheel. The seat just activates itself. I am not an overweight person. It only happens when first entering the vehicle and sitting down on the driver's seat. This anomolie happens quite often.”

NHTSA complaint #10032967, filed 2003-08, 1,000 miles

“The consumer was rear ended and pushed into the vehicle in front. The front seats collapsed along with the middle row seat backs, and the air bags did not deploy.”

NHTSA complaint #10003835, filed 2003-01, 116,872 miles

“When I exit the driver's seat and step down, my thigh sometimes hits the power seat reclining control and causes the seat to recline. The switch is spring loaded and would normally automatically jump back to the neutral position when released. For some unknown reason, it's possible to nudge it with my thigh at just the right angle that the switch does not return to its center/neutral position. I've tried to reproduce this manually by pushing it in this and that direction and I just can't do it. …”
