“My 2001 Honda Odyssey was shaking and when I would shift it in gear and wouldn't shift and it would drive rough. I changed all the solenoid but the problem is still there. Now I'm just going to junk it I can't afford putting a new transmission it only has 112,000 miles. I only used my Honda to go to work and home in the city streets.”

NHTSA complaint #11245798, filed 2019-08, 112,000 miles

“Driver able to shut off ignition and remove key while transmission gear selector still in drive. My teen drivers that are learning to drive have done this numerous times, even after I have pointed it out to them. The vehicle safety interlocks should prevent this scenario but in this vehicle, the safety feature has failed”

NHTSA complaint #10927453, filed 2016-11, 194,000 miles

“The ignition key can be removed from the ignition with the gear selector still in drive. My teenage drivers have on several occasions left the van in the driveway with the van still in drive, ignition off. Luckily, our home's driveway is flat and we have not had an issue of the van rolling away - yet!”

NHTSA complaint #10926524, filed 2016-11, 194,000 miles

“We were driving from indiana to florida. About 100 miles from our destination the check engine and tcs warning lights came on. The transmission shifted erratically at low speeds and the engine revved highly between gears at low speeds. We took the vehicle to the Honda dealer and were told we needed a new transmission at a cost of more than $5,000.”

NHTSA complaint #10491542, filed 2013-01, 104,000 miles

“2001 Honda Odyssey with 79k miles and the transmission went. I am the original owner and performed every scheduled maintenance Honda recommended. Now I have a van with a blue book value of 7,600 and it needs a new transmission for $5,000. Honda will not help with the repair and I am out a vehicle. They do not stand by their vehicles at all.”

NHTSA complaint #10416376, filed 2011-07, 79,000 miles
