“While driving highway speeds (65mph-75mph) the emergency braking system randomly activated causing my car to slow to almost a halt and swerve itself in the middle of the highway almost causing multiple accidents. It has happened 2-3 times over the past 2-3 months. Brought to a dealer and it could not be duplicated so I was sent on my way worried about this car.”
NHTSA complaint #11621694, filed 2024-10“For the past 2 years my Forward Safety System light on has been on in my car. It has turned off and back on repeatedly but has now been on for about 6 months. Hyundai dealerships are estimated a week or two of labor to fix which is extremely expensive for rental cars and outlandish that I bought this brand new and it is already giving me issues. No damage has been had to the car in any way.”
NHTSA complaint #11639341, filed 2025-01“I was driving on the highway three days ago, and the forward safety went off. It was raining heavily, this happened to me once before and as soon as the rain cleared, it went away. This time it has not gone away. The safety remains disabled. I am unable to locate the sensors to see if maybe there’s mud or some thing blocking it.”
NHTSA complaint #11558517, filed 2023-12“On June 13 2023, I received an alert on my dashboard that my cruise control was unable to be used due to an issue with the front sensor. The alert went away soon after but then reappeared on August 27th, 2023 the error appeared again. Specifically error code C162078. I wasn't able to get the issue repaired until November 2023, which is also where they replaced my faulty backup camera.”
NHTSA complaint #11632531, filed 2024-12“My vehicle experienced a sudden and complete brake assist failure, including the emergency brake. I was unable to stop the vehicle, which directly resulted in a collision. Prior to the crash, the car showed no warning lights. After the accident, I had the vehicle inspected at the Hyundai dealership. The dealership stated they could not reproduce the failure and “found no issues,” which contradicts the symptoms. …”
