“2009 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 4d sedan with 55000 miles. Lately, my car dash will blink p which is a notification for transmission is on parked even the shifter is in a different mode. This happens randomly and I am worried hope don't lockup transmission during the high speed. I have recorded a video of this scenario if asked. Btw this happens in both in motion or in stationary mode.”

NHTSA complaint #11244129, filed 2019-08, 51,000 miles

“While driving at 65 MPH in 4 lane I-95 rush hour traffic, the check engine light and the ESC light both came on and the car would not accelerate. Pressing on the gas pedal had no effect. I turned on flashers and drifted my way through 3 lanes and pulled over and restarted the car. The check engine light came on but not the ESC light. The car ran a bit rough with the check engine light on. The exact same thing happened the next day. I took the car to the dealer, and they replaced the throttle position sensor. …”

“While driving at 65 MPH, the check engine light and the ESC light both came on and the car would not accelerate. Pressing on the gas pedal had no effect. I pulled over and restarted the car. The check engine light came on but not the ESC light. The car ran a bit rough with the check engine light on. The exact same thing happened the next day. I took the car to the dealer, and they replaced the throttle position sensor. Based on owner reports at the Genesis owners web site, this has happened to many owners of 2009 v6 Hyundai Genesis. …”

NHTSA complaint #10403434, filed 2011-05, 16,037 miles

“When starting out slow, lise at a stop light, if it is necessary to lift off the accelerator briefly, the transmission seems to go into a high gear and the car just coasts with no power. By presing the accelerator hard, a jackrabbit start results when the transmission does finally shift down. This can be very scary. I have talked to other owners and this is a common problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10317356, filed 2010-03, 8,745 miles

“Hyundai Genesis 3.8l v6 2009 model 1. Steering pull to left - significant pull despite alignment fix 2. Brake jam at low speeds including at traffic light stops 3. Steering noise - when turning left during car parking and back-up 4. Engine noise like motor cycle when driving at moderate speeds 30-65 miles/hour.”
