“Backed into something at my son's school due to inoperable rear collision sensor, causing damage to the lift gate. there were/are no warning messages. My husband almost hit a car backing out of our driveway due to same issue. We are taking the car to the dealer for inspection”

NHTSA complaint #11532810, filed 2023-07

“I put my vehicle in park and vehicle continued to move, it moved over a curb and into a wall. I brought vehicle to dealership next day and they stated it was a gear control issue and needed to be replaced. I brought the vehicle to get an estimate for repairs and estimate is near $7000. Dealership said the part is not under warranty and no recalls. This is a safety concern. Vehicle has not been checked by manufacture, police or insurance as of yet no warning lamps or messages warned me of a possible gear failure. I have read online of other people having this same issue with Hyundai Santa Fe”

NHTSA complaint #11741656, filed 2026-06

“The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that while in reverse (R) on several occasions the rearview camera went completely white and the camera did not come on at all. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 92,500.”

NHTSA complaint #11741987, filed 2026-06, 92,500 miles

“The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked or hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that after two separate warranty repairs of the fuel injector, the failure persisted. In addition, the contact stated that the rear-view camera intermittently displayed a distorted or blank image while the vehicle was in reverse(R). …”

NHTSA complaint #11758435, filed 2026-08, 30,000 miles

“The reverse camera system did not come on when reversing. It could lead to someone like a child getting hurt if they’re walking behind the vehicle. The problem was reproduced by the dealer and serviced for this issue. They confirmed it was the same problem as the recall. There is a recall for 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe’s that were manufactured in the Alabama plant. This is where my car was manufactured. For some reason, it was not included in the VINs that were recalled.”
