“Instrument display and head up display go off and on at random times. Occasionally both are off at the same time so I can not see how fast I am going or use the video feed when signalling to turn. At times, all warning lights are on and do not go off so I am unable to tell if there is a problem with the vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #11680614, filed 2025-08

“I was driving using adaptive cruise control, and my entire instrument cluster went blank. Everything, I couldn't see my speed, if cruise control was on, the HUD display everything went dark then came back on in about 10-15 seconds. This was very concerning. I had no way to know if the safety systems like adaptive cruise control, forward crash section etc were still working. Lost my GPS directions, couldn't tell my speed This was extremely dangerous. This needs to be fixed asap.”

NHTSA complaint #11747066, filed 2026-06

“My 2025 Tucson hybrid violently stopped in mid traffic while leaving the intersection once the signal turned green to proceed. I accelerated getting to speed limit then it abruptly stopped, violently throwing contents from back seat to the forward cabin. Both, myself the driver and my passenger were jolted violently. The school bus behind me had to stop quickly as we were just getting up to speed from a stop light. The vehicle is brand new, 2024 miles on it. Tucson Nline Hybrid with all the safety features turned on. …”

NHTSA complaint #11691115, filed 2025-10

“The rear hatch was open as I had loaded packages in it. My husband & I were both at the rear of the car. I was on the passenger side but told my husband I was going to drive home and began crossing over to the driver side. He pushed the button to close the hatch. It came down and hit me in the head. It lacerated my head and really hurt. I had to get 5 staples to close the wound. This is a very concerning safety hazard. As an adult it was painful and required medical attention. I believe it should have detected my presence and stopped. …”

NHTSA complaint #11688765, filed 2025-09

“The vehicle (a NEW 2025 Hyundai Tuscon) suffered a Shifter System Malfunction. A message came up on the electronic dashboard Shifter System Malfunction - Service Immediately and the car was immobile. It could not be moved (it was stuck in reverse) nor could it be shifted into neutral to be pushed out of the roadway. THIS WAS AN IMMEDIATE HAZARD. The car needed to be towed to the dealer. Base on internet search, this is a KNOWN and not infrequent issue on Hyundai drive by wire (electronic shifting) vehicles. My car and I were in imminent danger because the car was not mobile. …”
